Groundwater Protection

o Explore and access water quality data collected by the Agricultural Water Quality Program (AWQP) developed to protect Colorado’s state waters and environment from impairment or degradation due to the improper use of agricultural chemicals. The program was created in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado State University Extension and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Data
In addition to the information collected directly by the AWQP, the database also provides access to additional water quality data and drinking water information including:
- USGS Water Quality Data
- EPA STORET Water Quality Data
- CSU Water Quality Interpretation Tool
- EPA Groundwater & Drinking Water
- EPA National Water Quality Standards Database
Results
The database provides surface and groundwater quality monitoring results by year and geographic location for pesticides and inorganic compounds including nitrogen and phosphorus. All reports are printable summaries of the requested information with the database filters. Because the AWQP primarily focuses on geographical areas with extensive agrichemical use, the data may not represent typical groundwater quality in Colorado.
